Meet Our UCLA Abutment- COBALT CHROME

Here at Edison Medical™ our UCLA Abutment is a castable abutment, offered with a machined base, produced from various metal alloys such as: Gold, Chrome Cobalt or Titanium. It is used for single or multi unit screws or cement-retained restorations. UCLA Abutments were designed to fix implant angulation problems and in various instances, issues with depth (too much or too little). In certain cases it may correct up to 30 degree angles, when cast as a custom abutment. It is difficult for castable abutments with the machine alternative. Due to this very reason, the invention of the overcasted UCLA Abutment came about, offering a plastic sleeve with a metal base ( Titanium, Chrome Cobalt or AU), enabling you to overcast with the flexibility of the plastic and the precision of a machined abutment.

The Cobalt Chrome Base:

CCM UCLA Abutments are fabricated in order to replacement the Gold UCLA option.ucla abutment material

The Chemical Composition: Cobalt(66%), Chrome(27%), Molybdenum(6%), Nickel(<1%)

The Procedure: The procedures are the same to that of the Gold UCLA Abutment, however the CCM UCLA Abutments need additional removal process of the Oxide Film at the cas ting surface. The Casting Temperature Comparison 1,400 CIDEAL

The Advantages

  • Sensible prices in comparison to the Gold UCLA Abutment
  • Increase Corrosion Resistance (Molybdenum)
  • Improvement in  thermal stability, Corrosion Resistance(Chrome)
  • A higher performance in precision than that of the Plastic UCLA Abutment
  • Better strength (Cobalt Chrome)

The Materials used for Accurate Casting

These are used for single unit screws which are custom cement or retained for restoration. Chrome Cobalt (CoCr) bases also provide more affordable alternatives with excellent performance as well as accuracy. Our Burnout merchandise enable premium quality surface finishes on the cast items. The materials melt during the burnout process, enabling it to melt without leaving any debris. Thus making this material perfect for producing exceedingly accurate, as well as  detailed full partials for direct investment for castable abutments. Another possibility is to produce multiple unit bridges with a impeccable T. Materials used in this process must compensate for the dimensional modification that occur during the casting process, including the possibility of shrinkage / expansion of the casting investment. The burnout is a homogeneous bending- resistant thermoplastic material used in the casting process.
