Clicq™ Multi-Unit Abutments
Meet the Edison Medical Clicq™ and Classic multi-unit abutments.
When you’ve found your multi-unit abutment match, it’ll Clicq™
In creating the Clicq™ Multi-Unit line, Edison Medical’s vision was to create a multi-unit screw-retained system capable of providing an enhanced durability over that of the classic multi-unit. Settling on a geometric alteration of the classic system, the Edison Medical research and development team increased the diameter of the fixation screw to M1.6 (from the classic M1.4). This larger diameter not only increases the stability and durability of the entire system, but also increases the torque capacity of the abutment to 22-25 Ncm, for a more secure connection with uncompromised strength.
The Edison Medical Clicq™ Multi-Unit abutments and accessories — from implant bars (dental bars) to impression copings — provide the tools for restoration of some of the most compromising edentulous cases. A perfect geometric match awaits every edentulous case when working with Edison Medical’s Clicq™ system.
Clicq™ Multi-Unit abutments
A range of angulation, collar height and across-brand usability options for Clicq™ Multi-Unit abutments gives dental professionals the tools to create the perfect fit for every multi-unit scenario, no matter how challenging. With the range of Clicq™ Multi-Unit abutment geometries comes maximized versatility and possibility for angulation correction and least lateral offset, as well as restorative flexibility and accuracy.
The Clicq™ Multi-Unit abutment’s unique and intelligent design offers several advantages over the classic M1.4 abutment, one of the most significant being the increased torque capacity of up to 22-25 Ncm, compared to the classic M1.4’s 15-Ncm torque capacity. The wider diameter of the Clicq™ Multi-Unit abutment also facilitates a more stable connection with the implant, making the system less susceptible to breakage and reducing need for replacement.
Quality begins with the material
Clicq™ Multi-Unit abutments are milled for longevity, stability and durability, which is achieved with high-grade Ti-6AL-4V-ELI titanium. To promote ideal biocompatibility and tribological properties of the abutment surface, a titanium nitride (TiN) coating was applied via physical vapor deposition (PVD).
Available Clicq™ Multi-Unit abutment formats
Clicq™ Multi-Unit abutments are available in either 9-piece mini kits that include a single abutment, or 84-piece professional kits that include a variety of abutment size options. Both kits contain the Clicq™ Multi-Unit components necessary to place the abutment.
Clicq™ Multi-Unit accessories and components
Along with the Clicq™ Multi-Unit abutment, Edison Medical offers a range of accessories to assist in the multi-unit restoration process. Clicq™ implant bars (also known as dental bars), impression copings, abutment sleeves (titanium or plastic), fixation screws, healing caps, transfers (open or closed) and adhesive caps are all available for individual purchase. Some can also be found in the Clicq™ Multi-Unit mini and professional kits. Edison Medical also offers Clicq™ PEEK scan bodies for use with CAD/CAM systems, along with additional multi-unit digital solutions for CAD/CAM, including Ti-bases and downloadable CAD implant libraries.
Available Clicq™ Multi-Unit accessory and component formats
Many of the Clicq™ Multi-Unit accessories and components are included in the Clicq™ Multi-Unit mini and professional kits, but are also available for individual purchase. The Clicq™’s dental bar ‘Multi-Bar,’ on the other hand, is available as an implant bar set for either All-on-4®, All-on-6® or All-on-X systems. Thanks to the design of multi-unit abutments, screw-retained implants can be placed at varying predetermined divergence angles, which strengthens the prosthetic structure by distributing masticatory forces evenly around the jaw and makes this system much more effective than a multi-unit screw-retained hybrid denture system that employs traditional abutments.
What is a multi-unit abutment?
A multi-unit abutment is a dental abutment specifically designed for use in multiple-implant, screw-retained scenarios that support a single prosthetic element, such as full arch restorations. In order to achieve a restoration in which abutments work cohesively to support a single prosthetic, multiple orientations are often required along the jawline. To this end, multi-unit abutments come in straight and angled options to allow for angulation correction along a single arch.
